February FFFF like Fitness!!!! Let's get fit this winter! The Youth Center participates in the Défi Santé 5/30 so for 6 weeks starting the frist week of February and ends March 14! Every animation shift, 30 minutes will be devoted to physical exercise! We need you for creative ideas concerning possible physical activities to do as a group! You should also be ready to bring snow pants when asked to. We will have a detailed chart here at the center and one to bring home for the participants in order to keep track of your daily 5 servings of fruits and vegetables and your 30 minutes of exercise. The whole satff participates too!
February 13 is a very important night for the center. It is answering the need voiced by you guys at the focus group to have a 'parents' night. We will open the center to the greater community for a night of entertainment and discoveries. It is also the necessary fundraiser for the trip to Ottawa where 6 youth and 3 animators go meet with people from all over Canada to create a network of great importance for future partnerships that may result in more trips and great activities. It is your responsibility that night to bring an adult (teacher, parent, grand-parent, friend of the family, aunt, uncle, coach...) who will contribute 10$ to the activity and will get free deserts from local bakeries and free fair trade coffee and tea. It will be at 7PM. It's time to show to the greater Lennoxville and Sherbrooke how motivated, creative, active and fantastic the youths at the LYC are!
Valentine's Day! Valentine's dance! Be there!
Teen Activity Committee elections. The TAC is the core of the LYC. Without it summer trips, cool field trips, any big activities don't exist. The Youth Center is there for the YOUTH. You need to make it your own. You need to get involved. So far 6 people will be running. It's still open to many more. 5 members will be elected, a president, vice-president, secretary, tresurer and administrator. If you have any question concerning the TAC please ask an animator. The election night will be on February 21, with the speeches, the votes and the results. Please come support your friends that night and all along their campaign.
